Run, Everyone! And Take Cover!
i was standing up, putting some heavy files back on the racks. i started to feel dizzy and like the shelves were dancing in front of me. i thought it was just the up-down-up-down movement that was giving me a headrush.
three seconds later the fire alarm tripped. and then came the announcement that the cause of the alarm has been investigated, and there was not cause for, well, alarm.
then five seconds later, my HR dept came over the PA system advising that everyone take an early lunch, evacuate the building and refrain from coming back to office until further notice.
i've never seen soooooooooooooooooo many people out at lunchtime. i hear they asked the whole of the CBD, Toa Bugis to evacuate. and some say Beach Road.
